William Ashby Moore, Sr., age 86, of 527 Fairway Drive, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home.
Born on January 25, 1926 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Frank B. and Bessie Lloyd Moore. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and retired from N&W Railroad in 1973 as a carman. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Lee Alice Lawson Moore; a brother, Frank Vernal Moore; and 3 sisters, Alma Bailey, Ruth Harless, and Lola Little. He was the last surviving member of his family.

7 grandchildren: Cindy Hatfield, Jeff Moore, Kristy Moore, Tina Aguilar, Janet Clements,
Chris Triplett, and Gabby Triplett
3 great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Moore, Ryan Moore, Isabella Aguilar
Special niece: Jean Miller
Angels of caregivers: Betty Taylor, Shirley Holdren and Debbie Taylor
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Dan Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Jeff Moore, Christ Triplett, Harold Miller, Albert Harless, Steve Remines, and Jake Remines will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
