Dennis William (Danny) Thomason, Sr., age 58, of Route 3 Box 535, Bluefield, died on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC surrounded by his family after a long illness.
At death, the soul freed from the pains, weariness, illness, and limitations of the body, he began his highest life in Heaven.
Dennis was born October 24, 1953 in Jamestown, OH to the late Ethel Beatrice Belcher Thomason and the late William Fletcher Thomason, Jr. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield was a retired coal miner. He always had a huge heart, and would go without to help someone out. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. He loved all sports, especially NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt. While we are mourning the loss of Danny, others are rejoicing to meet him in Heaven.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Carrie Belcher and William and Laura Thomason; his sister, Kathy Eddins; his mother in law, Ruth Jones; and his brother in law, John Jones.

Granddaughters: Alyssa (Angel), Julie (Lovebug), and Addison (Addy Bug)
Grandsons: Markus (Littleman); Grayson (GrayGray), and Dylan (Little Buddy)
His grandchildren were the light of his eyes.

Father in law: Rev. James Jones of Bluefield
Brother in laws: Pedo Jones and wife Cornelia of Rock

Many special friends who loved him like a brother.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 7:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Tracey Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton at a later date.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00-7:30PM at the funeral home.
