Derek Wayne Thacker of Dublin, Va., Departed this life on June 23rd, 2012 at the young age of 22… He was born January 17, 1990. He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Richard & Sarah Muncy. Those who are left to morn his loss, his loving Mother Linda Michele Muncy & Howard Stevens, Jr of Dublin, Va. Two Brothers, Joseph Muncy & Matthew Dotson both of Dublin, VA. His Grandmother, Anna M Becka of Newton, NC. Uncles, Eugene Muncy of Bluefield, Va & Anthony Muncy of Newton, NC. And an Aunt Joy Bowles, Oceana, WV. Several Special Cousins, Melony Burke of Gary WV, Sarah Muncy &Valerie Price both of Bluefield, WV. Josiah & Hadassah Bowles of Oceana, WV… Also, Derek leaves behind an unborn son Damien Nicholas Wayne Thacker & girlfriend Channon Charlton of Dublin, VA. He was so excited about becoming a new Dad… Derek was loved by so many friends; he was compassionate, loving & kind-hearted man! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Bishop P. Randall Bowles officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends & Family will serve as Pallbearers Friends may call on Wednesday from 11-1 at the funeral home.
