Richard L. “Boge” Perdue, 65, of Rt. 4 Box 66, Bluefield, W.Va., died at his home on Monday, June 18, 2012 of natural causes.
Born April 25, 1947 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Clayton and Beulah Neal Perdue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jane; and a brother, Ronald C. Perdue.
Richard is survived by five brothers, Donald A. Perdue and wife, Mildred, of Princeton, Charles B. Perdue and wife, Charlotte, James E. Perdue and wife, Mae, David W. Perdue and wife, Martha, Thomas W. Perdue and wife, Sandy, all of Bluefield. He was a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews and their children. Richard is also survived by a special friend, Linda Lockhart. He will be remembered as a talented musician with the ability to play any instrument.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wes Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Perdue Family Cemetery located in Brushfork. Serving as pallbearers will be friends and family members. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday June 20, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
