Edward Lockhart, age 87, of Gastonia, NC, formerly of Welch and Princeton, WV, passed away on June 18, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 9, 1924 in Premier, WV, he was a son of the late Edward and Florence Sizemore Lockhart. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with Allied Chemical Company, Semet-Solvay Division with more than 40 years of service. He attended Carr Memorial United Methodist Church in Princeton, WV. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Conley Coulson, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Linda Parsons and son-in-law Millard of Myrtle Beach, SC
Donna Bolton and son-in-law Steve of Gastonia, NC
Grandson: M. Edward Parsons and wife Cherly of Myrtle Beach, SC
Granddaughters: Heather Rodriguez and husband Mark of Lowell, NC
Melissa Barnes and husband Justin of Hardy, VA
Great Granddaughters: Kelsey Rodriguez, Grace Barnes, and Elise Barnes
He was also survived by his nieces and nephews, special friends, and the loving staff of Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where his family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Price. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Carr Memorial United Methodist Church, 1544 Glenwood Park Road, Princeton, WV 24740.
