Charles Ray Davis, Sr., age 72, of 249 Hockman Pike, Bluefield, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on February 20, 1940 in Welch, he was a son of the late Walter E. and Hattie B. Lambert Davis. He had been a resident of Bluefield for 40 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from being self employed and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge. He was an avid bowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Davis; an infant sister; and a sister, Katherine Rutherford. Survivors include: Wife: Shirley Carver Davis of the home 2 sons: Charles R. Davis, Jr. and Twila of Bluefield, WV Douglas E. Davis of Bluefield, VA and fiancé Pam Bottomlee of Bluefield, WV 1 daughter: Regina Davis Workman and Kapes of Bluefield, VA 3 grandsons: Adam K. Davis, Zachary D. Davis, and Cole R. Davis; 1 granddaughter, Terrwyn K. Workman 2 brothers: Walter “Bud” Davis and Betty of Bluefield, VA John K. Davis and Evelyn of Bluefield, VA 1 sister: Patricia B. Allen of FL Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Lacy Brooks officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Gordon Lane will serve as honorary pallbearer. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the family.
