Regina Shires Wikle

Regina Shires Wikle, 77, of 3371 Coal Heritage Road, Bluefield, WV (Bluewell) and formerly of Welch, WV, finished her earthly journey at Westwood Center, Bluefield, VA and entered into her eternal heavenly home Saturday, May 12, 2012. She was born May 8, 1935 in Peterstown, WV to Ruth Davis Whitt and William E.R. Whitt. While still a teenager, she married her high school sweetheart ,Billy B. Shires and they had one daughter, Billie Jean Shires Rhyne. A graduate of Peterstown High School, Regina worked at Sears in Welch and retired from McDowell County National Bank in Welch. She was employed at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell at the time of her death. She was a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church, Welch and a member of Bluewell Woman’s Club. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy B. Shires. Survivors are her husband, James R. Wikle of the home; her daughter, Billie Jean Shires Rhyne and husband, Henry “Hank Rhyne” of 4702 Keeneland Lane, Charlotte, NC; step-mother, Virginia M. Whitt of Princeton, WV; sister, Margaret Shires and Jimmie of Bluewell, WV; sister-in-law, Ruby O’Farrell of Union, WV; two special nieces, Lisa Lineberry and Bill of Bluefield, WV and Lori Combs and Gene of Princeton, WV; special friends, Tommie Jane Jackson and Shelva Kelley of Bluefield, WV and Mary Kirk and Frankie Heath of Princeton, WV. Funeral services will be Wendesday, 2:00 PM, Cravens-Shires Chapel with Rev. James Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. Pallbearers will be Bill, Billy and Logan Lineberry, Greg and Robin Shires, Johnny Tooley and Employees of Cravens-Shires. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
