Freida Marie Brant

Freida Marie Brant, age 63, of 346 Gypsum Street, Bluefield, W.Va., died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at her home. Born on June 28, 1948 in Williamson, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Edna New. She had lived in Bluewell for the past seven years after being a former resident of Garland, W.Va. She was a retired school bus driver for the McDowell County Schools. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended the Beartown Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Cline. Survivors include husband, William R. Brant of the home; daughters, Carol Sue Godbolt of High Point, N.C., Kathy Lynn Covarrubias of High Point, N.C.; brother, Harold New of Florida; sisters, Lucille Cline of Gilbert, W.Va., Betty Justice of Princeton, W.Va., Shirley Robinette of Princeton, W.Va., Debbie New of Bassett, Va., Jo Ellen New of Princeton, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Nancy Blevins. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com.
