John Karl Johnson, Sr.

John Karl Johnson, Sr., age 60, of Route 2 Box 45, Rock, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley. He was born July 2, 1951 in Spokane, WA where his father was stationed in the USAF. John was preceded in death by his mother, Crystal Heidi Weaver; his father, John William Johnson; and his brother, Frank Johnson. John graduated high school in Raleigh, NC, then served in the USMC for 7 years. John began his family in Henderson, NC where he worked in the city of Henderson at Gray Stone Concrete and St. Wooten before moving to WV. John is survived by his two loving children: Susan Collins of Youngsville, NC; and his son, John Johnson, Jr. of Rock. He had six beautiful grandchildren; and three brothers, James, Arthur and Fred Johnson. Services will be held at a later date at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC.
