Fred Booten Warden, age 79, of Rt. 5, Box 379, Bluefield, WV died on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on February 23, 1933 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Samuel Booten and Verna Hubbard Warden. He had lived in Bluefield his entire life and was of the Christian Faith. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had worked for the N&W Railroad, B & B Boiler Company and had worked in Surface mining. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lorraine Day Warden; a brother, Guy Warden; and a sister, Mary E. Warden. Survivors: Son: Blake Fred Warden of Tazewell, VA Daughters: Leslee Katherine Burton and husband Paul of Bluefield, WV Robin Stassen of Radford, VA Sister: Malita Murphy of Princeton, WV 4 Grandchildren Adopted Sister: Marion Curmode of Powell, OH Special Friends: Roger Rumley and Louie Bolyard Several special nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Dyer and Richard Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow on Friday morning at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton where military graveside honors will be performed by the West Virginia Veterans Council. His friends and family will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are requested to meet at the cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5:30 – 6:00 PM prior to the service.
