Johnny Tony Matusevich, 83, of GlenWood Park Retirement Village, Princeton, West Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 16, 2012 at his home. He was born May 22, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley and Mary Proco Matusevich. He retired as Director of Manufacturing at West Virginia Armature Company in Bluefield, West Virginia and was a part time sales rep for Salem Specialties of Salem, Va. He previously attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bluefield. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Justin Keith Matusevich and Victor’s soulmate companion, Michelle Stone. Left to cherish his memory as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather is his daughter, Beverly Thomas and husband, Joe, of Princeton, WV; son, Johnny T. Matusevich, Jr. and wife Sandy, of Abbs Valley, VA; son, Victor L. Matusevich, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Stephanie Hall and husband, Barry, of Princeton, WV, Kristen Chitwood and husband, Wallace, of Callaway, VA, Stormi Matusevich, Abbs Valley, VA, and Johnny and Marty Stone, Greensboro, NC; great-grandson and “his buddy”, Blake Hall, of Princeton, WV; step-grandchildren: Kimberly Jones and husband, Mike, of Springville, VA, Elisha Cuppet, Falls Mills, VA, and Christina Stone and Robert Stone of Greensboro, NC; step-great grandchildren: Elijah and Ethan Jones, Springville, VA, Brian Cuppett and Savannah Doss, Falls Mills, VA, and Arial Stone, Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Stanley Matusevich, Bluefield, WV, Kathern Perkins and husband, Clayton, of Princeton, WV, and Sylvia Garvie of Oklahoma, special sister-in-law, Barbara White, Boissevain, VA, special niece, Brenda Norvell, Courtland, VA, and all the staff at GlenWood Park Retirement Village who loved and cared for him like he was their family member. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Jim Milam officiating. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be his sons, grandsons-in-law, nephews, and great-grandsons. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
