Janet Ellen Hamby

Janet Ellen Hamby, age 65, of Bluefield, WV died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Maples Nursing Home in Bluefield. Born on August 26, 1946 in Welch, WV she was a daughter of the late Andrew M. George, Jr. and Edna Browder George. She had lived in Bluefield her entire life and was retired from the Aramark Company in Bluefield, VA. She was of the Holiness Faith and was a devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Allen Bailey. Survivors: Son: Russell Gene Mitchem of Bluefield, WV Daughter: Susan Deel of Cedar Bluff, VA Brother: James Michael George of Charleston, WV Harold George of Bluefield, WV Sister: Shirley Ogle of Max Meadows, VA 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Mitchem, Craig Mitchem, Connor Mitchem, James George, Larry Sizemore and Joseph Niece. Friends may call on Friday afternoon from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
