Thomas Calvin Blevins, Jr., age 83, of Princeton and formerly of Switchback, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Born on June 4, 1928 in Rock, he was a son of Thomas and Inez Johnson Blevins. He had been a resident of Princeton for one year and was a member of Maybeury Church of God, which he loved. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a retired coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elsworth (Louise) Johnson, Edward (Nancy) Johnson, Allen (Delphia) Johnson; and sisters, Dovie (George) Bentley, Thelma (Arthur) Simons; and brother in law, Clifton Yates.

4 adoring grandchildren: Chris James, Heather Sexton, Misty Riffe, Traci Sexton
1 brother: Ed Johnson and wife Ruth Johnson of Wise, VA
1 Sister: Mary Helen Yates of Princeton
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Maybeury Church of God in Maybeury with Rev. Kenneth Abram, Rev. Ronald Miller, and Minister Jack Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Maybeury Church of God.
