Virginia Maxine Hundley, age 82, of 109 12th Street, Princeton, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her home.
Born on March 7, 1930 in Jenkinjones, she was a daughter of the late William Harrison Hundley, Sr. and Effie Mae Turner Taylor. She had been a resident of Princeton for 28 years. She was a former member of the Conklintown Church of God and served as church clerk. After relocating to Princeton, she became a member of the Princeton Church of God and served as a church secretary. She was retired from Consol with 42 years where she was a clerk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earnest Lee Hundley, and William H. Hundley, Sr.; and sisters, Louise Blaylock, Beatrice (Bea) Johnson and Doris Perdue.
Survivors include:
Sisters: Margaret Spradlin of Princeton, with whom she had made her home for 28 years
Pauline Coe of Anawalt
Iris Moore and husband Franklin of Anaheim, CA
2 brothers: Eugene Hundley and wife Helen of Corunna, MI
Uriel Hundley and wife Betty of Columbus, OH
A host of nieces, nephews and family whom she loved
Special caregivers of Amedisys Hospice: Barbara, Brenda, Amy, Judy, and Sherry Lusk.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Fred Farley, Rev. Martha Boyd, and Rev. Jim Coe officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial park in Bluewell with nephews serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
