Myrtle Jean East, age 92, of Rt. 2, Box 139, Rock, WV (Windmill Gap) died on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her home.
Born on March 15, 1920 in Goodwill, she was a daughter of the late Emmet and Cordelia Jenkins McMillan. She had lived in Windmill Gap for the past 83 years and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond East; son, Charles Wayne East; brothers, Marshall McMillan, Key McMillan, Emory McMillan, Ray McMillan, and Fields McMillan; sisters, Cordelia Mae Bare, Johnsie Curran, and Alice McMillan (infant); son-in-law, Vernon Leon Thompson; and grandchildren, Kelli Dawn East, Elizabeth Brooke East, Gregory Lee Thompson, and Charles “Deno” Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Daniel Gunnoe, Rev. Devon Olacheau, and Rev. Earl Hill officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Bailey, Keith Darago, Neil Mason, Jamie East, Jason East, Adam East, Michael East, Jr., and Rusty East. Friends may call on Saturday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
