Albert Lee “Kise” Martin, age 82, of Kirk Street, Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on October 10, 1929 in Maybeury, he was a son of the late John and Ethel Griffith Martin. He had been a resident of Princeton for over 10 years, worked in the coal industry for 30 years and retired as a coal truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Army, served in Korea and was a prisoner of war for 14 months. He was a member of the VFW, NRA and UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. He was the last surviving member of his family. He was also preceded in death by a special member of his family, his dog, “Lady Di”.

Wife of 39 years: Evelyn Finley Martin of the home
Daughter: Brenda Remmells and husband David of Princeton
Stepson: David Nance of Sterling, VA
Adopted Daughter: Jackie Shahan of Bramwell
2 adopted grandchildren: Laura and Diane Shahan
Funeral; services will be conducted on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with David Remmells, James Moshier, David Nance, Johnny Finley, Carl Finley, Jr., and John W. Martin serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the WV Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
