William David Stevenson

William David (Skip) Stevenson, Jr., age 30, of Pocahontas, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a year-long battle with cancer. Born on July 11, 1981, he was a son of William David Stevenson of Springville and the late Kathy Earls Flint. He had been a resident of Pocahontas for 4 years and was a member of the Mt. Grove Community Church. He was a 2000 graduate of Graham High School and was a truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Earls Stevenson Flint; a sister, Heather Stevenson Meadows; a niece, Sierra Meadows; paternal grandfather, William Estel Stevenson and maternal grandfather, George David (Buck) Earls. Survivors include: Wife: April Anderson Stevenson of the home Son: Dean Stevenson of the home Father: David (Milkman) Stevenson of Springville, VA Brother: Jesse Stevenson of Springville, VA Paternal Grandmother: Helen Stevenson of Bluefield, VA Maternal Grandmother: Margaret Earl Pruett of Bluefield, VA Two nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Daniel Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where William and Jessie Stevenson, Richard Smith, Aaron Wells, Curtis and Bruce Kennedy will serve as pallbearers.
