Stewart Reed

Stewart Franklin Wilson Reed, age 75, of Route 1 Box 105, Matoaka, WV, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the residence of his caregiver, Brenda Cordle. Born on July 27, 1936 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Levi and Flora reed. He had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and attended the Ridgeview Church of God. He was a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Reed; and his second wife, Janet Marie Gillespie Reed. Survivors include: 1 son: Joey Franklin Reed and wife Robin of Matoaka 3 stepsons: Kenneth Bowden and wife Michelle Tommy Bowden and companion Kalla Michael Bowden and companion Janice Grandchildren: Chase, Nathan, Brittany, Ruby, Joanna Great grandchildren: Katie Lynn and Dustin Brother: Cecil Reed of Princeton Caregiver: Brenda Cordle of Lashmeet Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor L. A. Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at the Odel family Cemetery in Mataoka, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
