Lucille "Sissy" Coffey

July 9, 1927 — February 13, 2012

Lucille “Sissy” Coffey, age 84, of Montcalm, went home to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 13, 2012. She passed from this life into life eternal to be with her departed loved ones while residing at the Maples in Bluefield, WV. Born on July 9, 1927 in McComas, she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Ollie Cochran Compton. She was a lifelong resident of Montcalm and was a member of the Church of God. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Compton. A precious loving soul is now in heaven, we know this is a temporary separation until we meet again. Left to cherish her memory include: Daughter: Brenda Watkins and husband Roger of Lerona Son: Jackie Coffey and wife Arlene of North Carolina Sister: Shirley Mays of Bluewell Joey Sands and wife Charlotte whom she had raised as her son of Montcalm 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved and many other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening, February 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Frankie Watkins and Stanley Metz officiating. A committal service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell on Friday morning at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Friday. Serving as her pallbearers will be Rick Duncan, Joey Sands, Harry “Pee Wee “ Smith, Aaron Watkins, Roy Sparks, and Pat Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Scott, Roger Watkins, Jim Clark, Gary Watkins,Seth Harrison, Frankie Church, Brandon Sands and Roy Lee Smith. The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com. The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
