Margaret Madaline Whittaker

Margaret Madaline Wright Whittaker, age 87, of Rt. 5, Box 435 A Bluefield, WV passed away on Thursday February 9, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. Born on January 12, 1925 in Switchback, she was a daughter of the late John Mack and Della Wright. She had lived in Bluewell for 75 years and was a lifelong member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. She had taught school for several years in Mercer County and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Mackie, and Robert Wright. Survivors: Husband of 64 years: Paul H. Whittaker of the home. Daughters: Peggy Whittaker of Bluewell Patricia Lester and husband Jerry of Dublin, VA Pam Whittaker of Bluewell Sisters: Roberta Poe of Grafton, VA Martha Bradley of Bethel, OH Grandchild: Ginger Cline and husband Jordan of Princeton Great-grandchildren: Brooke Scarbro and Gabriel Cline Special caregiver: Barbara Martin of Bluewell Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Gary Lamie officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell where her friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Bluewell or Brushfork Bible in the Schools Fund.
