Woodrow Wilson Nunn 87 of Hillcrest Drive Bluefield, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Mr. Nunn was born on October 08, 1924 in Switchback, West Virginia to the late Wilson A. Nunn and Alice Shaw Nunn. Woodrow had been a resident of Bluefield, Virginia for most of his life. He served his country in WWII with the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. After WWII he went to work for U.S. Steel in Gary, West Virginia where he worked for 27 year in the Coal industry. Mr. Nunn also worked for the National Seabees Memorial. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives Mildred Barnett Nunn and Willie May Nunn, one brother Joseph Nunn and one step-son Junior Barnett. Left to cherish his memory: Four Daughters: Doris Bunn Mayhugh and husband James of Morganton, Georgia Shirley Stamper of Bluefield, West Virginia Nancy Wirt of Princeton, West Virginia Pat Chizmarki of Groveton, Georgia Two Sons: James Nunn and wife Tamina of Case Grande, Georgia Junior Smith of Jackson, North Carolina Sisters: Irma Webb of Bluefield, Virginia Minnie Poff of Bluefield, West Virginia Margie Pruett of Dover, Delaware Special Friends: Herman and Ruby Rhotan Four Grandchildren, Three Great Grandchildren, Six Step Grandchildren and Twelve Step Great Grandchildren Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Don Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia where Bob Gay, Jeff Gains, Kenny Goins and Jimmy Mayhugh. Graveside services will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of the service.
