Roy Lee Meadows, age 70, of 321 Brierwood Lane, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born on November 28, 1941 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Roy Cornice and Beulah May Meadows. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Tazewell, VA. After graduating Montcalm High School, he attended Bluefield State College and Concord College. Roy received his Masters degree from Radford University. He was employed by Tazewell County Schools for over 30 years, serving as assistant principal at Graham High School for 17 years and as principal at Pocahontas High School. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.

Son: Shawn Meadows of Bluefield, VA
Daughter: Jill Hoppin and husband Rob of Alexandria, VA
Brother: Ronnie D. Meadows and wife Janet of Bluefield
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Tazewell, VA with Rev. Tom Conley and Rev. Anthony Grills officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell and one hour prior to services at the church.
