Hazel Francis Miller

Hazel Francis Nunley Miller, age 85, of Abbs Valley, VA passed from this life into Eternity with her Heavenly Father on Thursday December 29, 2011 with her family gathered around her at her home. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born on February 1, 1926 in Leckie, WV, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Emma Nunley. Frances attended school in Leckie, Anawalt, and Gary, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Arnel Miller; Sisters, Velma Ruth Nunley, Pauline Snead, Ella Taylor, Hilda Wade, and Louise Vitosky; her only brother, Sam Nunley, Jr.; special brother-in-law, Frosty Taylor; and special nephews, Dennis and Dallas Taylor. Survivors include: Sons: Randall Miller and wife Debbie of Abbs Valley Clifton Miller and wife Vicki of Abbs Valley Grandchildren: Leslie Powell and husband Andrew and Joey Miller and wife Hope Great-grandchildren whom she really loved: Conner Miller and Chance Miller of Bluefield, VA and Sydney Powell and Gage Powell of Bluefield, WV She is also survived by nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly: Chris Nunley and wife Marilyn, Ronnie Vitosky and wife Bonnie, Emmett Clayton Taylor and wife Deborah, Glenna Sue Snead Webster, Mickey and Johnny Benson and Rita Johnson and husband Lloyd. In addition, she is survived by some very special friends: Rita Kinkaid, Kathryn Forrester, and Sandy Baker and loving caregivers, Fern Bell and Wanda Epperson who cared for her the past year. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Boissevain Baptist Church in Boissevain, VA where she was a member with Rev. Reginald Blakewood, whom she learned to love as a brother in Christ and Minister Johnny Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the church and one hour prior to the service
