William Hezekiah Hensley

William Hezekiah “Bill” Hensley, age 91, of Montcalm, WV died on Thursday December 29, 2011 at his residence with his family at his side. Born on April 10, 1920 in Greene County Tennessee, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Flora M. Riddle Hensley. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Navy. He was a retired coal miner with 35 years of service. His hobbies were restoring classic cars and bowling. He was a member of Burke Memorial Baptist Church, United Mine Workers, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Hensley; brother, Clarence Hensley; sisters, Marjorie Mahone and Pauline Hensley; grandsons, William “Billy” Howard England, Robert Anthony “Tony” Morin, Steven Eric Morin, and Glenda Hensley; and sons-in-law, Robert “Bobby” England, Russell Simpson, and Ray Moore. Survivors Include: Sons: David Hensley and wife Carolyn of Speedwell, VA Teddy Hensley and wife Glenna of Statesville, NC Kenneth Hensley and wife Amy of Baptist Valley, VA Jamie Hensley and wife Karen of Mooresville, NC Daughters: Alma England of Bluefield, WV Rebecca Mullins and husband Charlie of Bramwell, WV Brenda Moore of Bluewell, WV Loretta “Sissy” Morin and husband Bob of Mooresville, NC Noleta Harris of Salisbury, NC 31 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren Special Friend: Helen Reece and her family Tim Reece and wife Betty; and Rick Reece and wife Wanda of Princeton, WV Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. W.W. Wyrick and Rev. Kevin Belcher officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the Horsecreek Church of God Cemetery in Chuckey, Tennessee. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-9 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home and at the Horsecreek Church of God just prior to the committal service.
