Thelma Lousia Foster

Thelma Lousia Powers Foster, age 88, of Rt. 4, Box 507, Bluefield, WV, formerly of Eckman and Eureka Hollow, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the home of her son in Northfork. Born on April 29, 1923 in Sugar Grove, VA she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Dinnie Richardson Powers. She had lived in Bluewell for the past 42 years and was a former member of the Bluewell Church of God. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Foster; son, Richard “Ricky” Foster; and 3 grandchildren. Survivors: Sons: Jerry Foster and wife Nancy of Martinsville, VA John Foster and wife Shelby of Northfork, WV Daughter: Alice Lester of Statesville, NC Sister: Georgia Owens of Keystone, WV 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Johnny Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Serving as her pallbearers will be Freddie Powers, Billy Bowman, Casey Foster, Dusty Foster, John Foster, Jr. and Jeffrey Foster. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
