Geneva H Ellison

Geneva H. Ellison, age 89, of 3416 Laurel Fork Road, Rocky Gap, VA, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011 at her home. Born on March 11, 1922 in Goodwill, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wall Hurst. She had been a resident of Rocky Gap for 11 years and was a member of the Duhring Church of Christ. She was formerly a resident of Duhring and Lorton Lick Road before moving to Rocky Gap in 2001. She was previously employed at Sears and retired in 1981. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waitman G. Ellison, and a brother, William (Bill) Hurst. Survivors include: 3 sons: Kermit R. Ellison of Bluefield Jerry N. Ellison of Rocky Gap, VA Donald Ellison and wife Linda of Springville, VA Daughter: Judy Ellison Smith and husband Ronnie of Rocky Gap, VA 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild 2 sisters: Carol Gardner of Cleveland, TN Barbara Cox of Bartow, FL Special Caregivers: Sabrina and Tiffany and the doctors, nurses, and aides of the Hospice of Southwest Virginia. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Speaker Ronnie Smith, son-in-law of Geneva officiating. Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those attending services are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on Monday at 12:45PM.
