On November 22, 2011, Veda Margaret Avancini Sexton, of Bluefield was called home after a very long journey in this life at the age of 98. She was born on April 13, 1913 in Fayette County West Virginia, was raised in the mountains, and spent her entire life here. There was no place in this world more beautiful to her than the mountains. During her life she bore witness to the birth of cars, planes, rockets and everything we take for granted. In the final four years of life she was able to spend quality time with her grandchild she nicknamed "Pooh-Pooh". This special relationship always brought a smile to her face and a twinkle to her eyes, and for a few moments, would relieve her of the pain of this life. Her life has influenced many people for the better and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Father-Louis Cambell Avancini, Mother Phoebe Jane Avancini Brothers; John Comuzie, George Comuzie, Pete Comuzie, Ben Avancini, Louis (Bud) Avancini, William Avancini ; and sisters; Tressie who died at birth, Elizabeth Dixon, Genova Comuzie, Annie Morris (Avancini); Vada, her twin who died in 1918 and Vivienne Jones (Avancini).
