Edsel Wayman Taylor, age 83, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on May 6, 1928 in Springton, WV, he was a son of the late Philip and Belle Blanche Basham Taylor. He had been a resident of the Bluefield area for 78 years and attended the Deliverance Temple Church. He was a retired mechanic from Consol Coal, was a member of the UMWA and was a former member of the National Guard. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Taylor; 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include: Wife: Margaret Lorraine Cleary Taylor of the home 1 son: Richard Gerald Taylor and wife Carolyn of Elgin, SC 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren 1 brother: Lowell D. Taylor and wife Annabell of Bluewell 2 sisters: Edith Kirby of Brushfork Dorothy Farley of Spanishburg Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Dan Jividen officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Paul Johnson, Elmer Shrader, Robert Ruth, and other friends will serve as pallbearers.
