Helen Mae Johnson, age 81 of Maybeury, W.Va. died Friday Nov. 4, 2011 following a long illness. She was born March 6, 1930 to Hobert and Artie Scott at Leckie, West Virginia. She was a faithful member of 66 yrs of the Maybeury Church of God in Maybeury, W.Va. which she was the second oldest member of the church. She love her Lord with all her heart, her family and her friends. She was a friend to all who knew her. She has gone on to heaven where she will not suffer no more. Her desire was to see Jesus and to see her parents and all her loved ones that has gone on before her. Mom really was a good mom, grandmother & great-grandmother and even a dad. She was proceeded in death by her husband Russell Johnson, a daughter Nancy Ruth Johnson and her parents Hobert & Artie Scott, one brother James (Buck) Scott and 1 sister Carol Vaughn and a great grandson, Logan Gibson and both of her grandparents on both sides & Paul Kizer, Pam’s fiancé. She is survived by four daughters, Judy Johnson of Maybeury, Matha Johnson & Colman Cope of Maybeury, W.Va., Pamela Butler of Princeton, W.Va. & Kathy Gibson & Virgil Lambert of Pearisburg, Va.. She is survived by 2 sons. Ricky Johnson & wife Belvia of Sparta, N.C. & Ronnie Scott of Maybeury. She is also survived by a special grandson whom she helped raised, Keith Johnson of Maybeury and survived by 6 other grandchildren Missy, Eric & Duke Gibson & Ricky Johnson Jr. of Sparta N.C. and Stanley Johnson of Anawalt W.Va. Also she had 15 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers. Kermit Scott & wife Janie of Sparta N.C., Charles (Pat) Scott of Bluefield .Va. & Rev. Clinton Scott & wife Donna of Zellwood, Florida, also survived by lots of nieces, nephews & cousins. She is also survived by a special friend whom she called every night, Lucy Spinella of Switchback and her church family and the hospice Compassus nurse Debra and CNA Renetta and all of Hospice that came and seen her. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 1:00 at the Maybeury Church of God with the Rev. Danny Scott, Rev. Ronald Miller and Rev. Kenneth Abram performing the funeral services. Burial will follow at Woodlawn in Bluewell with Ricky Johnson, Jr., Eric Gibson, Russell Duke Gibson, Stanley Johnson, Jacob Sadler, Kenneth Bogart, Kenneth Bogart, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Cravens Shires funeral home in Bluewell and one hour prior to services on at the church on Monday.
