Mildred Bonnie Liddle Poe, age 90, of Princeton, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Westwood Health Care in Bluefield, Virginia.
Born on March 26, 1921 in Crumpler, she was a daughter of the late James and Blanche Edwards Liddle. She was a resident of Crumpler before residing in Green Valley. Mildred graduated from Northfork High School and worked at the telephone company at Grundy and Northfork. She spent her later years as a homemaker. Mildred was devoted to her church, the First Church of God on Airport Road, in which she attended faithfully until her illness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Sanders Poe; children, Marsha Ann and Boyd Lester Poe; brothers, Damon and Clifford Liddle; sisters, Marie Freeman, Helen Hawks, Mary Lou Lawless and Mabel Fizer. Mildred was the last survivor of her immediate family.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews and her special friend, Ruth Gearheart.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Tim Swingle officiating. Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Those attending services are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on Wednesday at 1:30 PM.
