John Garland Ratcliff

John Garland Ratcliff, age 86, of Rt. 4, Box 66 Bluefield, WV died on Saturday September 10, 2011 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on November 14, 1924 in Matoaka, he was a son of the late John F. and Roxie Robins Ratcliff. He was retired from the American Red Cross as a supervisor and had driven for Cimarron Coach Company in Falls Mills. He was a veteran of WWII having served his country in the US Air Force. He was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Daniel Ervin Ratcliff, Earnest Edward Ratcliff, James Marvin Ratcliff, Ezra Lroe Ratcliff, and Elzworth Allen Ratcliff; and 3 sisters, Effie Adlee Ratcliff, Sylvia Harry Ratcliff, and Alice Mae Ratcliff. Survivors: Sister: Grace Teresa Ratcliff Wright and husband Bernard of Rt. 4, Bluefield, WV Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. James Milam officiating. Military Graveside Honors will be performed by the West Virginia Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:00 AM the day of the service. The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com.
