Virginia Gaminde

Virginia B. Gaminde, age 87, of PO Box 526, Anawalt, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on March 12, 1924 in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Humphrey D. Wolfe and Nancy Vivian Lawhorn-Wolfe. She was a veteran of World War II and served with the WAF. She was retired from Johns Hopkins Hospital and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Pedro Gaminde, Jr. and one son, Michael W. Gaminde. She is survived by: One son: Stephen G. Gaminde and wife Linda of Anawalt, with whom she made her home 3 grandchildren: Georgeanna Gaminde of Lynchburg, VA Clarence Gaminde and wife of Welch Virginia Lynn Dawson and husband Shawn of Abbs Valley, VA Granddaughter in law: Jenny Rose of Welch 3 great grandchildren: Blake Johnson and Talia French Ethan Gaminde of Anawalt Sister: Nancy Gillespie of Eugene, OR Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Mary Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by with Mercer County Veterans Council and the WV Honor Guard. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
