Sherman Bryant Woody

ROCKY GAP, VA---Sherman Bryant Woody, age 66, of 2990 East River Mt. Road Rocky Gap, VA passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, VA. Born April 10, 1945 at Rocky Gap, VA he was the son of the late Charles Preston and Vinnie Stowers Woody. Mr. Woody was a lifelong reside of Rocky Gap and was of the Church of God faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded death by two brothers, Bobby R. Woody and Olden “O.B.” Woody; one nephew, Ricky Looney. Survivors include, Two brothers, Raymond L. Woody and wife Virginia of Rocky Gap, VA Watha Woody and wife Brenda of Rocky Gap, VA One sister, Phyllis Looney and Homer Mullins of Rocky Gap, VA Two sister-in-laws- Euva L. Woody, wife to the late Olden “O.B.” Woody of Rocky Gap, VA Mary E. Woody, wife to the late Bobby Ray Woody of Rocky Gap, VA Nieces and Nephews, Sheri Spoloric , Karen Kmatzer, Dreama Gammon, Crystal Sheffler, Frankie Woody, Barbra Click, Darren Woody, and Michael Woody. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Cumberland Road Church of God, 3431 E. Cumberland Road, Bluefield, WV with Rev. Paul Looney officiating. Burial will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, WV. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home by 12:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Cumberland Road Church of God on September 3, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
