Jessie Vance “JV” Jenkins, Sr. 84 of West Virginia Manor Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.
Born on December 04, 1926 in Mercer County, West Virginia he was the son of the late William Nathaniel Jenkins and Ollie Elizabeth McMillan Jenkins. Jessie was the last survivor of 16 children. Jessie was a member of East End Baptist Church and a disabled coal miner. He had been a resident of Bluefield for the last 15 years.
In addition to his parents Jessie was preceded in death by one son Jessie Vance Jenkins, Jr. Also preceding him in death were five siblings at birth, Six Brothers Paul, Elbert, Joseph, Homer, Clifford and Chester Jenkins and Four sisters, Mae Jenkins Severt, Mary Jenkins Hundley, Ethel Jenkins Cline Carter and Phyllis Jenkins Neff.

Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Kirby officiating the service. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, West Virginia where Charles “Buck” Branscome, Tommy Kirby, Russell Tabor, Danny Hall, John Riley, Reece Riley, Kent Jenkins and Danny Hall will be serving as pallbearers.
