Pauline Lowe, age 89, of 909 Pearl Street, Bluefield and formerly of Davy, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on December 21, 1921 in Mile Branch, she was a daughter of the late John and Stella Rose Mitchem. She had been a resident of Bluefield since 1982 and attended the Salvation Army in Bluefield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Lowe, Sr.; a son, Joseph S. Lowe, Jr.; 3 grandsons, David Joseph Meade Waters, Joseph Melvin Muncy, and Scotty Lowe; sister, Josephine Acosta; brothers, Woodrow, George, Ted, Paul, Donald, and Gilbert Mitchem; half sister, Mae McClanahan; and two half brothers, Jimmy and John Henry Mitchem. Survivors include: 1 son: Lundy Lowe of Gaston, VA 3 daughters: Sally Ewing of Easton, MD Delores Lowe of Mabscott Linda Harvey of New London, NC 15 grandchildren: Crystal Ewing, Connie Ewing, David Allen Ewing, Leonard George Muncy, Mark Steven Muncy, Melanie Sellers, Melissa Parks, Roger Harvey Jr., Rhonda Sisk, Robert Harvy, Phyllis Allen, Pamela Rawlings Michael Lowe, Tina Vespoli, Tara Cucuzzo 31 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell at 11:00 a.m. with Captain Jerry Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with friends and family will be serving as pallbearers. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the Lowe family at www.cravens-shires.com Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the family.
