David Alvin Nunley

Rev. David Alvin Nunley “Dave” 54 of Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon August 2, 2011 at the New River Valley Medical Center in Radford, Virginia. He fought a long and brave fight for nearly 4 years with Kidney Cancer. He left behind but will see in Heaven one day soon, loving and devoted wife Tammy Nunley of Bluefield, WV. His loving son David Eric Nunley and wife Christy Nunley of Bluefield, VA. His loving daughter Cheryl Marie Brodnik and husband Randy M. Brodnik of Bluefield, VA. His two loving and adoring grandchildren Ashleigh Nunley and Landon Breeden. Other survivors include: His father Warren Nunley and wife Jessie Nunley of Bluefield WV. Sisters; Joyce Shelley and husband Peanut Shelley of Bluefield VA, Linda Walker and husband Pete Walker of Salem, VA. Brothers; Bobby Nunley and wife Oleta Nunley of Bluefield WV, and Wayne Kitts and wife Barbara Kitts of Tazewell, VA. He was blessed with countless nieces and nephews that meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his son Roy Lee Nunley of Bluefield, VA. Mother Lonnie Nunley of Bluefield, VA, two sisters Elaine Hylwa of Cary , NC, and Francis Young of Bluefield WV. Rev. David Nunley was head pastor of Liberty Chapel Ministries in Brushfork WV for over Ten years. His life was a true reflection of Gods love. He displayed this daily through his love for his family, church, and his ministry. He also loved to enjoy Gods beautiful creation by walking through the woods on a cool fall day, swinging on his back porch swing, and riding his motorcycle across the beautiful terrain. Whether he was preaching, fishing, or just sitting around talking you could guarantee you were going to be blessed or laughing: usually both. Now in heaven with his Son, Mother, Sisters, and many other loved ones, we know he is happy and rejoicing with the saints. We love you and will miss you dearly but we know we will see you soon. Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Bunny Watkins and Donna O’Neal officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Shelly, David Walker, Tommy Walker, Arnet Cunningham, Jason Nunley and John Nunley.
