Bennie Virginia Semones

Bennie Virginia Hickam Semones, age 89, of 184 Forborough Street, North Tazewell, VA, and formerly of Coalwood, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Westwood Center in Bluefield, VA. Born on October 18, 1921 in Lynch Mines, KY, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Lula Tomlinson Hickam. She had been a resident of Tazewell for 20 years and was of the Methodist faith. She had been a former personnel director for the Doctor’s Hospital in Welch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lorand C. Semones ; and three brothers. She was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include: 2 sons: David Semones and Wilma of North Tazewell, VA Eddie Semones of Princeton 1 granddaughter: Lynn Chapman and Darin of Princeton 1 great grandson: Caleb Chapman of Princeton Special friends at the Westwood Health Care Center Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 2:00PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Lacy Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
