Edith Doss Smith

Bluefield- Edith Doss Smith, 78, of Rt. 1 Box 426 Littlesburg Rd. Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away Monday June 27, 2011 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 20, 1933 in Giles County, VA she was a daughter of the late Fred and Edna Williams Doss. Mrs. Smith was a loving wife and mother and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Lloyd Emory Smith, a daughter; Linda Sue Hammond, a son; Richard Smith, a sister; Lois Phillips, and brothers: Harold Doss and Alvin Doss Survivors include three sons; Donald Smith of Iaegar, WV, Jeff Smith of San Antonio, TX, and James Smith and wife Retha of Bluefield, WV, a daughter; Ruth Taylor and Kenny Mays of Bristol, TN, two brothers; Clarence Doss and Calvin “Pete” Doss both of Bluefield, WV, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted Thursday June 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. from the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Donald Compton officiating. Grandsons and other family members will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday June 30, 2011 from 9:00A.M. until time of services.
