Effie Lee Weiss, age 86, of Route 3 Box 569, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her residence.
Born on August 6, 1924 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Willis Isaiah and Eugena Hester Thomason Hager. She had been a resident of Sandlick since 1972 and was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. She was a retired hairdresser and was a member of the Princeton Moose Lodge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Eldridge Sigmon; her second husband, John King; a son, John R. King, Jr., 3 sisters, Lillie, Letha, and Willie; and 3 brothers, Carl, Fabbie, and Rader. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Pastor David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow with Dustin King, Shaun Joiner, Joe King, Brian Haskins, Douglas Rivenbark, and Brad Altizer serving as pallbearers.
