Daniel Joseph Day, age 62, of Anawalt, WV died on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
Born on August 11, 1948 in Skygusty, he was a son of the late Arthur P. Day, Jr. and Betty Jarrett Day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug and Dean Day.
Danny was a 1967 graduate of Northfork High School and was a disabled Vietnam Veteran and also a disabled coal miner. He was a member of the Crozer Baptist church in Elkhorn, WV. He was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter WV0628 ;Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 9696; and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter Mercer/Princeton #31.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Jim Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Military Graveside Honors will be performed by the West Virginia Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. His family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
