Melvin Phillip Broyles

Melvin Phillip Broyles, age 80, of Route 3 Box 228, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at his residence. Born on June 30, 1930 in Bluewell, he was a son of the late Walter B and Nancy A. Phillips Broyles. He had been a resident of Bluefield for his entire life and was retired from the Griffin Pie Company and National Electric Coil. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was the last surviving member of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Marvin, Rosa, Lena, Glen, Nora, and Oliver. Survivors include: Wife: Margaret Rose Broyles of Bluewell Daughters: Vickie Larue and husband Tim of Princeton Shelva Wolfe and husband Tim of Sandlick Eunice Broyles of Bluewell Sons: Phillip Broyles and wife Pat of Bluefield David Broyles and wife Rachelle of Princeton 5 grandchildren , 4 great grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 3 great-step-grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Dewayne Belcher officiating. Friends may call from 6:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Broyles Family Cemetery in Nemours. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30AM.
