Mary Kathleen Watkins

Bluefield, WV- Mary Kathleen Johnson Watkins, 85, of Rt.4 Bluefield, WV(Nemours) died Tuesday June 7, 2011 at the home of her son, David Watkins in Rocky Mount, NC following a long illness. Born in Derby, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Rev. John Grant and Bertha Cordle Johnson. She was a home maker and a member of the Glorious Church of Jesus in Abbs Valley and a resident of Nemours for 57 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gene Watkins, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her son, David Watkins and wife Phyllis of North Carolina, and a sister, Zola Mae Zaborski of Claytor Lake, four grandchildren; Mickey Watkins of Richmond, VA, Gina Brooks, Shane Watkins, and Kristin Watkins all of Bluefield, WV, nine great grandchildren, two step grandchildren; Michelle Joyner of Rocky Mount, NC , and Jessica Brickers of Roanoke, VA, and five step great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Watkins will be held Sunday June 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home located in Bluewell with the Carl Baldwin officiating. Serving the family as pallbearers will family members and friends. Burial will follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery on Bluefield-Tazewell Road in Bluefield, VA.
