Effie Marilyn Glass

Effie Marilyn Glass 93, of Bluefield, Virginia formerly of Maybeury and Peel Chestnut Mountain, West Virginia. Passed away at Westwood Center in Bluefield, Virginia on Thursday, May 26, 2011. Effie was born on December 08, 1917 in Maybeury, West Virginia to the late Jack and Ella Bell Phelps Smith. Effie was of the Baptist faith and lived on Peel Chestnut Mountain for most of her life. Effie was the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James I. Glass; Two sons Jerry and Jim Glass; Two brothers; three sisters and one granddaughter Left to cherish her memory: Five Daughters: Janet Bowlick of Bluefield, Virginia Jean Cranfill and husband Paul of Porter, Indiana Judi Wright of Bluefield, West Virginia Joyce Brown and husband Anthony of Maybeury, West Virginia Lisa Stiltner and fiancée Tony Vanhoozer of Springville, Virginia Eleven (11) Grandchildren Ten (10) Great Grandchildren Two (2) Great Great Grandchildren Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with the Rev. Carlos Hess officiating the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia where Steven Brown, Clyde Robert Brown, George Bowlick, Andrew Jeffers, Tony Vanhoozer and David Bowman will be serving as pallbearers.
