Lelia Myrtle (Scott) Peterson, age 100, of Route 5 Box 736-B, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Princeton Health Care. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother who will be fondly remembered by all as “Granny.” Born on May 5, 1911 in Stuart, VA, she was a daughter of the late Jonce and Minnie Dalton Pack. She had been a resident of Bluefield for 50 years and was a dedicated member of the Montcalm United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Methodist Women. She worked at various businesses throughout the Bluefield area and retired in 1978 from the deli at Deskins Supermarket. Her love for life was evident in her dedication to her God, church, family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who was blessed to have known her. In addition by her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Mark Scott; sisters, Virginia Demyon, Mildred Breeler, and Mary Nesbit; brothers, Howard Pack, Richard Pack, and Walter Pack; and in laws, William Hart and Joe Mabe. Survivors include: Son: Harold R. Scott and wife Alice of Bluefield Daughters: Mae Hart of Princeton Brenda J. Belcher and husband Wayne of Bastian, VA 10 grandchildren 2 step grandchildren 25 great grandchildren 9 great-great grandchildren 2 brothers: Elwood Pack of Stuart, VA George Pack Collinsville, VA Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Earl Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. Carl Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
