Cecil Hubert Elliott

Cecil Hubert Elliott, age 90, of P.O. Box 32, Gary, WV died on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on May 10, 1920 in Filbert, WV, he was a son of the late Walter and Phoebie Parrish Elliott. He had lived in Gary his entire life and was retired from Gary US Steel Coal mine. He was a UMWA member. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Pinter Elliott; infant daughter, Linda; brothers, Burley, Vernon, Earl, and Estil Elliott; and sister, Velma Winfrey. Survivors: Daughters: Wanda Taylor of Laurel, MD Patricia Hopwood and husband Jim of Seattle, WA Son: Kenneth Richard Elliott of Columbus, OH Grandchildren: Lisa and K.P. Elliott Mark Taylor Kate Hopwood Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. James Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Members of the family will be serving as his pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the McDowell County Humane Society.
