Rudy Kelly

Rudy Kelly, age 91, of P.O. Box 83, Pageton, WV died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on February 2, 1920 in Gary, he was a son of the late William H. and Cora Umbarger Kelly. He had lived in Pageton for the past 50 years and was a member of the Thorpe United Methodist Church. He had retired coal miner from the US Steel Coal Mine after 42 years of faithful service. He was a member of the UMWA. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. He was the last survivor of his family. Mizelle of Williamsburg, VA Joey Fields of Elbert, WV Great-Grandchildren: Nina Claire Kelly, Alyssa Kate Kelly, and Matthew Ray Mizelle Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Orville Harvey and Rev. Destry Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where military graveside honors will be performed by the West Virginia Honor Guard. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
