James Karl Shrewsbury

James Karl Shrewsbury, 67, of Douglasville, Georgia died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. He was born June 29, 1943, in Montcalm, West Virginia to the late Thomas Wilson and Iva Loraine Sutphin Shrewsbury. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by a brother Thomas “Budgie” Shrewsbury. Survivors are sons Richard Wayne Shrewsbury and wife Shannon of Douglasville, GA; Jeffrey Allen Shrewsbury of Winston, GA; two brothers, Richard Lynn Shrewsbury of Roanoke, VA; Donald Dean Shrewsbury and wife, Judy, of Bluefield,WV; four sisters, Lois Caswell and husband, Irvine of Acworth, GA; Carol Duncan and husband, Fred of Bluefield, WV; Shirley Brock and husband Mallen of Bluefield, WV; Betty Pintur and husband, Steve, of Flowery Branch, GA. He is also survived by his five beloved grandchildren, Jennifer “Precious” Osterman and husband, Colt of Richmond, VA; Brandon Shrewsbury and wife, Amanda of Carrolton, GA; Kristal Dickerson and her husband, Randy of Chicago, IL; Matthew Ballard and his wife, Andrea of Douglasville, GA; Christopher Ballard of Douglasville, GA. His great grandchildren include Kaylee, Michael, newborn Joanna Ballard, Lucas and Sophia. Jim is also survived by what he considered his second family at his place of employment, Kraft Nabisco, in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Tony Reed officiating. The burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday, April 1, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
