Edna Mae Hazelwood

Edna Mae Honaker Hazelwood, age 66, of Coaldale, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 25, 2011 at her home. Born in Ft. Smith, AR on May 12, 1944, Edna moved to WV at a young age and lived the majority of her life as a housewife and mother to five children. She attended Coaldale Freewill Baptist Church for many years where she enjoyed singing solos and singing with the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Harold Honaker and Lillian Irene Fortner Honaker; a brother, Gordon McRae “Mack” Honaker; and a sister, Novella Marie Wirt. Survivors include: Five children: Billy Wayne Hazelwood of Greenville, SC James “Jimbo” Hazelwood and Tammy of Boonville, NC Rebecca “Becky” Harmon of King, NC Katherine Spencer and Jessie of Tobaccoville, NC Jennifer Yuwapan and Patrapee of Thailand 4 sisters: Linda McGuigan of Lorain, OH Denise Boots and John of Switchback Debra Lambert of Bluefield Janet Honaker of Princeton 3 brothers: Robert “Bobby” Honaker of Homerville, OH Harold “Sonny” Honaker and Cola of Bluefield David Honaker of Beckley Many other family and friends who helped to take care of her, including the staff of Hospice Compassus. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 8:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Roger Lacy and Rev. Tim Lacy officiating. Friends may call prior to the services on Monday, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
