Vaughn Vincent Farmer, age 88, of Route 4 Box 43 (Old Bramwell Road), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Castle’s Board and Care in Princeton.
Born on January 16, 1923 in Anawalt, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Virdie Steelman Farmer. He had been a resident of Brushfork for 50 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in World War II. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the UMWA. He also had worked at Kersey Manufacturing as an electrician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Bratsis Farmer; parents, Roscoe and Virdie Farmer; 1 brother, Roscoe Farmer, Jr.; 2 sisters, Zella Pollard and Dorothy Pollard; and an infant brother, Franklin Farmer.

Rebecca Burnette and husband Todd of Bluefield, WV
Grandson: Nicholas Humes
Granddaughter: Kendyl Burnette
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jason Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Todd Burnette, Tim Humes, Kevin Crane, Nicholas Humes, Lonnie and Alvin Quesenberry will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
