ANAWALT, WV---Alfred Lee Day, age 81, of 133 Indian Grave Road Anawalt, WV passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at his residence. Born August 16, 1929 at Gary, WV he was the son of the late Shafter and Alminta Brewster Day. Mr. Day had been a resident of Anawalt all of his life and was retired from US Steel #14 Mine after 40 years of service. He was a member of the UMWA and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Survivors include, His wife Hattie Anders Day of Anawalt, WV One Daughter, Pamela Huff and husband Brian of Anawalt, WV Three sons, James Day of Anawalt, WV Allan Day of Anawalt, WV Gary Day of Skygusty, WV Two sisters, Pauline McKenzie of Cleveland, OH Mildred Day of Hinton, WV Eight Grandchildren and three Great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Mary Lambert and Rev. Donnie Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA. Friends may call Tuesday, March 1, 2010 from 12:00 noon to time of service at 1:00 p.m. Grandsons and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
